1. Download and run the pesetup.exe v1.0.3 file (Jun 2, 2017)
2. If you have multiple compatible simulators installed, the installer will offer the choice to install PilotEdge for each simulator. Be sure to run the correct version if you do have multiple simulators.
3. When you next start Microsoft Flight Simulator or Prepar3D, you may be asked to trust one or two DLL files, peaicontrol10.dll and petrans10.dll. Click ‘Run’ for both of these, and when asked to add them as ‘Trusted’ software, click ‘Yes’.

Configuration

1. If you run FS2004/FSX/P3D as Administrator, you must also run PilotEdge as Administrator, otherwise the keyboard-based Push To Talk will not function reliably.
2. The client uses the operating system’s default recording and playback devices (this will change soon). These need to be configured prior to launching the client.
3. The PilotEdge client does not send weather information, so you can use the built in Flight Simulator weather, or a third-party addon such as ActiveSky.
4. In the sim, under Settings → General, please turn OFF “Pause on task switch”.
5. In the sim, under Settings → Realism, we recommend disabling ‘Allow collisions with other aircraft’.

Push to Talk Configuration

1. The default Push to Talk key is the Scroll Lock key. There may be an existing function in the simulator mapped to the same key. You can either change the PilotEdge push to talk setting (Start→Options→Voice), or you can remove the simulator’s mapping from the Settings→Options→Controls menu.
2. If you’d like to map the Push to Talk feature to a button on the joystick or yoke, you can use FSUIPC to trigger the “Ptt Transmit On (rw Or Avc)” and “Ptt Transmit Off (rw Or Avc)” events, or a third party utility such as Joy2Key. If you do use FSUIPC, ensure that you do NOT have it configured to repeat the command.
